About our program
Program Information
The Select Program provides House League players with an opportunity to train and compete at an advanced level, through coaching and competitive tournament play. Teams compete throughout the summer in one-day weekend tournaments, culminating with a Provincial Championship. Tryouts are held in the spring and are open to all age-eligible players in the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18/U22 divisions.
Season Format
Teams will engage in one practice per week and participate in 4 to 5 season tournaments; 3or 4 one-day travel tournaments, and a 2-day Provincial Championship held seasonally during the 3rd or 4th weekend in August. .
Coaches
Note, it is standard for a Select Head coach to coach in the House League at any Level, and Select teams are not bound by the same provisions for equal play-time of a House League team. However coaches, players and parents will conform to the BMSA Code of Conduct, to ensure each player has a meaningful experience.
Note: The expected player commitment is to attend the Provincial Championship, and no less than 3 of the 4 one-day tournaments.
Players/Parents
All Select team parents must help with the in-town Tournament(s) that are hosted by your team. It will include duties such as diamond prep and maintenance, score keeping and other tasks. Your coach will have more information at the start of the season.
