Umpires

Making the Right Call

For divisions U9 and above, we employ local umpires who have completed the Softball Ontario Umpire Clinic. Our umpires range in age from 12 to adult. We encourage players in the U13 and older divisions to consider umpiring, as it can help them gain knowledge about the rules and gameplay.

BMSA holds a Level 1 umpire clinic and will cover half of the clinic's cost, provided that the individual commits to umpiring for the season. Umpiring is an excellent opportunity for players to earn extra money, as umpires are paid well for tournaments.
