We are pleased to announce the return of our Select Program. We are having tryouts for the following divisions in April:

• U9 Girls - Friday, April 5
• U9 Boys* - Friday, April 5
• U13 Girls - Friday, April 12 - U11 players are encouraged to try out.
• U17 Girls - Friday, April 19

All tryouts are held at Madonna Della Libra School and will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. To be eligible for a Select team, the player must be registered and on a house league team for the 2024 season. These tryouts may be coupled with the evaluations for the divisions. Roster selection will be completed in May.

Program Information:

The Select Program allows House League players to train and compete at an advanced level through coaching and competitive tournament play. Teams compete in one-day weekend tournaments throughout the summer, culminating with a Provincial Championship. 

The Brantford Diamondbacks Select teams play at various weekend tournaments throughout southern Ontario.  Team members are selected after tryouts, usually from house league players.

Season Format:

Teams will engage in one or two weekly practices and participate in 4 to 5 season tournaments, 3 or 4 one-day travel tournaments, and a 2-day Provincial Championship held seasonally during the 3rd or 4th weekend in August.

Coaches:

Note, it is standard for a Select Head coach to coach in the House League at any Level, and Select teams are not bound by the same provisions for equal play-time of a House League team. However, coaches, players and parents will conform to the BMSA Code of Conduct to ensure each player has a meaningful experience.
Note: The expected player commitment is to attend the Provincial Championships and no less than 3 of the 4 one-day tournaments.

Players/Parents:

All Select team parents must help with the in-town Tournament(s) hosted by your team. It will include duties such as diamond prep and maintenance, scorekeeping and other tasks. Your coach will have more information at the start of the season.
